Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang arrives here

(KPL) The President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, H.E Mr. Truong Tan Sang this morning arrived here on an official goodwill visit to the Lao PDR at the invitation of his Lao counterpart H.E Mr. Choummaly Sayasone.

An official ceremony to welcome H.E Mr. Truong Tan Sang with his delegation will take place at the Presidential Office. The visiting Vietnamese President is scheduled to have talks with his Lao counterpart H.E Mr. Choummaly Sayasone this morning. On the visit, the local newspapers today published the biography with portrait of the visiting President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

H.E Mr. Truong Tan Sang was born on 21st January, 1949 in the province of Long An. From 1966-1975, he jointed the revolution, and from 1975-1983, secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of suburban farms and agricultural economic units of Ho Chi Minh City; from 1983-1986 in charge of voluntary youth affairs, rural economic recovery and forestry of Ho Chi Minh City; from 1986-1991, member of the Municipal CPC Standing Committee, Secretary of Binh Chanh District Party Committee, Ho Chi Minh City; Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture.

From 1991-1996, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal CPC Committee, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City’s People Committee; from 1996-2000, member of the Politburo, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; from 2000-2006, member of the Politburo, Head of the Party Central Commission on Economic Affairs; from 2006-2011, member of the Politburo, Standing Member of the Central Party’s Secretariat.

From July/2011, he was elected by the 13th National Assembly as President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam
